This weekend, we took time with teens at Journey to look deeply at what God desires of our moments with Him- how to pause. The teens learned a lot, and so did I.

As a teen, adult… no matter your age, our calendars feel really full. I have many roles:

-small group leader

I could go on. These roles take time and energy, but no role is as important as being a Christ-follower. I have realized this weekend that while I am in the Word daily, I am not being very intentional about memorizing scripture.

A few things I’m starting this week:

1. Writing verses on our mirrors with dry-erase markers.

2. I often write a verse on our welcome table, but starting to have that verse coincide with our mirror verses.

3. Printing She Reads Truth’s “Weekly Truth” verse to hang in our home or at school.

4. Write or doodle verses that stand out to me during quiet times on post-its to hang in the house, in my car, or at school.

“I have stored your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.”

Psalm 119:11

“How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!”

Psalm 119:103

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

Pslam 119:105

May these verses be true in my heart and life. May I pause… truly, to not just read and apply, but to KNOW the Word of God.
