A little over one year ago, Justin and I began searching for our next step in minstry. We were obedient and stepped down from a position last summer, but God had not yet revealed where we would be serving next. We still felt called to Charleston, and found a church to get involved in that aligned with our heart for the city, Journey Church.
We helped with children’s ministry, volunteered with teens, and began waiting and expecting God to open doors either at Journey or another church. This Spring, Justin became the interim student pastor as the former was called to one of Journey’s sister plants. Justin applied for the position, but we weren’t sure if this was what God wanted. We knew we had been led to Journey for a purpose, but also trusted that if God only had us at Journey to fill the interim position, then He would provide a staff position again. We learned to trust one another, pray ferverntly, and be patient together during this time of waiting for God’s plan for us to unfold.
We are excited to announce that Justin has been offered and has accepted the position at Journey! This is especially exciting because for the first time in his seven years of ministry, he will no longer have to work a full-time job alongside ministry! We have been praying for three years for this, and God has chosen to provide.
This was definitely another God Moment to add to our “Ebenezer Jar!” I have been staring at an empty stone for months, expectant that God would provide a position for Justin again, so writing upon this stone was especially sacred for us.
God is good. He will provide in His timing, and we are thrilled to see what He does through us at Journey!
