I’m not the best at keeping plants alive. Last year, a precious grandmother of a student that was moving away gave me several potted plants. Our front porch and back deck looked beautiful! But… when winter came, most died. This first-timer wasn’t quite ready for so many plants that needed special winter instructions. I’m trying again this year and for now, we have blooms (yay!). After watering plants this morning, I read a great reminder from 1 Peter. I’m so glad that unlike my “talent” for killing foliage, God’s word never fails. For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” And this is the word that was preached to you. (1 Peter 1:24-25 NIV) It is assuring that God’s promises will never wither, die, be tossed out or forgotten.
